A fast moving thunderstorm in central Alberta produced a lot of cloud to ground lightning strikes. The back road offered a great view of the canola in the foreground.

Grosbeaks typically eat insects and seeds in the summer. On closer inspection though, it looks like this male Grosbeak has been enjoying some berries! We are having a stellar year for berries and if I'd hazard a guess, this dude has been into the Saskatoon trees around our yard!
